Xbox Live Rant

Posted in Everything Xbox 360 on June 29th, 2006

I love playing Call of Duty on xbox live but here are a few of my pet peeves.

1. People who cry about the weapons you use.

It seems like every game I play lately some crybaby is saying “no snipers” or “no shotguns”. Last night some fuckwad yelled at me for using a Thompson in Vossenack Germany.

2. People who cry about your strategy.

Lot’s of people get mad if you “camp” but there is no consensus on what defines camping. I ask people and they usually say anywhere from 10-30 seconds in one place means you are camping. Others get mad when you “prone” (lie down and make yourself hard to hit).

For the most part these people are weak players who need to blame someone else when they die.

Come on people the game is about WAR. Here is the thing, if I were in a war I would do whatever I needed to survive and kill the enemy. If I had a sniper rifle I would use that advantage to get as far away from the enemy as possible. I would also hide out in buildings to keep myself under cover. Many soldiers rely on these tactics today.

If you are going to play a war simulator there should be no rules.

Having said that, if the game host wants to play an “all pistols” or other type game and makes that clear before starting that’s fine. Some of those games can be amazing. :)
