GOW for xbox 360 is continuing to hoard the end of the year gaming awards and has now been announced as Game Of The Year by arguably the most respected video game site on the internet.
From Gamespot:
Gears of War, a graphically stunning sci-fi shooter published by Microsoft Games, was named Game of the Year by GameSpot (www.gamespot.com), the leading source for unbiased gaming information.
For GameSpot’s 11th Annual Best & Worst of 2006 Awards, more than 40 awards were presented in categories ranging from Best New Character to Best Game No One Played. A complete list of winners is available here.
“Gears of War is a stunning, extremely satisfying, and challenging shooter,” said Greg Kasavin, editor-in-chief of GameSpot. “The developers at Epic Games have set a new standard for how believable and intense action gaming experiences can be.”

The Resident Evil film trilogy wont be the only franchise Capcom will have on the big screen as the publisher is ready to bring Onimusha, Devil May Cry and a new installment of Street Fighter to the big screen. More info inside.

Want to get an early in on the xbox 360 Halo 3 beta? It appears that MS will be going the Charlie And The Chocolate factory route.
But instead of golden tickets, there will be specially marked copies of Real Time Worlds’ developed Crackdown that will include an invite to the multiplayer beta.

We warned of a potential software pack-in for the Halo 3 beta back when it was announced in November — now that warning is a reality. Between the registration sweepstakes and the Crackdown pack-in, Microsoft is giving gamers two ways to get into their “public” beta — though a fleeting beta you’re paying $60 to participate in doesn’t seem very public.
